The Orem Public Library houses more than 280,000 books and non-print items. It is one of the busiest single-branch libraries in the State of Utah, with 1.4 million items checked out annually.

The Adults/Teen Collection has over 110,300 books, including a large reference section, current and classical fiction, large print books, Boy Scout Merit Badge books, and pamphlets on topics of current interest. The periodicals area has over 250 magazines, as well as local and national newspapers. Internet service is available in this area, as well as access to many CD-ROM databases for Utah history, science, and literature. The map collection has 2,200 maps, including hiking and topographic maps.

The Children’s Collection is the largest in the State of Utah, with over 93,500 children’s books, pamphlets, magazines and read-alongs. Librarian assisted Internet access is available in the Children’s reference area along with multi-media CD-ROM databases designed for children such as National Geographic Atlas.

The Media Collection has 15,600 videos and 6,400 DVDs, including contemporary films, old-time favorites, PBS series, silent and foreign films, and instructional videos. 21,000 compact discs and 8,000 audio cassette tapes offer a wide array of music, sound effects, children’s literature, speeches, old-time radio programs, and a particularly exceptional collection of jazz. The very popular books on tape and CD provide abridged and unabridged readings of contemporary fiction and non-fiction, as well as classic literature. The Media Collection also includes CD-ROMS and sheet music.
